Q2: More Than a Meal — A Memory Made.

“More Than a Meal — A Memory Made.“

We from Devon India had a chance to spend time at an Akkareya Belaku Residential School For Differently Abled that cares for children with special needs was one of the most humbling and enriching experiences of my life. These children, despite their unique challenges, radiate a kind of joy, resilience, and innocence that touches your heart in ways words can hardly describe.

From the moment we walked in, we was greeted with warm smiles and curious eyes. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, music, and a sense of community. The caregivers and volunteers were doing remarkable work—patiently guiding, educating, and supporting each child with dedication and love.

To make the evening a bit more special, we  had the opportunity to sponsor dinner for the children and the staff. It wasn’t just about the food; it was about creating a small moment of celebration and care in their routine.

Special children don’t need pity—they need inclusion, understanding, and love.

They teach us patience, empathy, and how to find joy in the simplest things.

If you ever get a chance to visit an NGO or volunteer your time with children with special needs, we wholeheartedly encourage you to do so. You won’t just be giving—you’ll be receiving far more in return.

If you would like to go and spend sometime with children below is the address.
